International fluorine chemistry prize for Professor Véronique Gouverneur

Congratulations to Professor Véronique Gouverneur, who has been awarded the 2021 International Henri Moissan Prize for her work in fluorine chemistry.

Awarded every three years, the prize recognises scientists of international standing who have made major contributions in the field of fluorine chemistry. Professor Gouverneur’s work, which has many applications in areas from pharmaceuticals to positron emission tomography, will be celebrated when the prize is awarded in November 2022 at a symposium in Paris organised by the Fondation de la Maison de la Chimie.

In reaction to the news Professor Gouverneur said: “I am truly honoured to receive this recognition for our work on fluorine chemistry. I would like to thank la Fondation de la Maison de Chimie, my amazing team, mentors and collaborators, and all the scientists of the fluorine community for their unreserved support since I started working on fluorination twenty years ago. I have enjoyed every single day, and I am looking forward to what is ahead of us.”
