Postdoctoral fellowships

These fellowships are generally aimed at candidates who will shortly be finishing their PhDs to those with a few years of postdoctoral experience. Typically they offer salary for the fellow and small amounts of research expenses but no funding for research staff. They aim to support you to work on a research project of your own creation, often with the support of an academic supervisor, and to take the first steps towards research independence, but do not enable you to have your own research group.

If you would like to apply for a PDRA fellowship then please contact the academic supervisor you are interested in working with and the Research Facilitation team to discuss your application. A completed Expression of Interest for PDRA Fellowships form must be submitted at least 6 weeks before the funder deadline in order to gain departmental support. Some postdoctoral fellowships are subject to an internal selection process if institutional or funder caps on numbers apply.
