Postgraduate funding

Overview of funding opportunities

There are potential funding opportunities to work with any supervisor on the DPhil in Chemistry or MSc(Res) in Chemistry.

The University provides a range of funding opportunities for postgraduate students: these include scholarships, such as the Clarendon Scholarships and other scholarships associated with Oxford colleges, and funding from the EPSRC Doctoral Training Programme and other UKRI sources. For the vast majority of these University funding sources, there is no additional application process. If you fulfil the eligibility requirements, you will be considered automatically for funding after submitting your graduate application form. However, you must apply by the January application deadline in order to be considered. There is a great demand for University funding, and so competition is high, but every year we are able to fund a substantial number of postgraduate students to carry out their studies.

Please note that both the University's and the Department's policy is that only the successful candidates are notified of the outcome of funding decisions.

Some of our supervisors have funded places associated with specific projects. These will be listed below, as and when they become available. Note that these are not the only funding opportunities; as explained above, there are potential funding opportunities to work with any chemistry supervisor.
